Declaration of Emergency Related to Flat Fire

Idaho City, Idaho – Idaho City Mayor Kenneth Everhart signed a Local Disaster Emergency Declaration on August 14, 2024, due to the threat posed to the watershed that Idaho City relies on as its primary source of water. The City Council passed a resolution affirming the Local Disaster Emergency Declaration for an indefinite period.
Idaho City is closely following new developments with the Flat Fire. There is no indication that the Flat Fire is a direct threat to any structures or residents within the City. The Declaration ensures that the City can respond immediately and access outside resources if and when necessary to protect the City’s water system and water quality.
