NOTICE: The Idaho City Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing Monday August 11, 2025, at City Hall, 6pm.
The City of Idaho City Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on August 11, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 511 Main Street, Idaho City, ID 83631. The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear testimony on a proposed change to the Zoning Ordinance to require a conditional use permit for any proposed formula business and place criteria for a formula business to ensure that it fits within the unique and historic character of the City and is not detrimental to public health, safety, and welfare.
The proposed ordinance defines a “formula business use” and sets the criteria for a conditional use permit for a formula business. The criteria would require that the proposed business (1) would not be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, comfort, and general welfare to the neighborhood, the City, or its citizens, (2) compliment existing businesses and promote diversity and variety of commercial uses, and (3) the design and improvement is consistent with the unique and historic character of Idaho City. Written comments may be submitted for consideration by no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Members of the public may also provide testimony at the Public Hearing concerning any of the matters.
