Slow down, enjoy the drive: Law enforcement agencies partner for regional speed enforcement July 20–26
City of Idaho City, IDAHO — The Idaho City Police Department and the Idaho Office of Highway Safety (OHS) urge Idahoans to slow down and enjoy the drive this summer, as law enforcement agencies across the state ramp up speed patrols this month.
The effort –July 20-26– is part of a broader regional campaign with partnering states Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Alaska. With coordinated patrols across state lines, drivers should expect to see an increased law enforcement presence wherever their summer travels take them throughout the Northwest.
So far in 2025, at least 126 people have been killed in traffic crashes on Idaho roads, including 49 people since Memorial Day weekend. As the “100 Deadliest Days” continues through Labor Day, please follow posted speed limits, allow extra travel time, and adjust your speed for weather and traffic conditions.
